The
first of todays Nokia Press Conferences, Nokia, and Intel has just
closed, and from it, I bring news of MeeGo,
which is an open source, Linux project which brings together the
Moblin project, headed up by Intel, and Maemo, by Nokia, into a single
open source activity. Mobile applications, only need to be written once,
and will work across many platforms, devices, and brands with MeeGo, be it a Mobile
Phone, a Netbook, Notebook, Computer, or Multimedia pocket computer,
applications created using this MeeGo based Solution will function
perfectly, no matter which device its transferred to. No more losing
your applications when renewing your devices.
MeeGo integrates the
experience and skills of two significant development ecosystems, versed
in communications and computing technologies. The MeeGo project
believes these two pillars form the technical foundations for next
generation platforms and usages in the mobile and device platforms
space. |
