Android is working on enhancing the platform to work with Intel processors along with ARM which it currently runs on and this is going to be in near future versions of Android.

This was announced by Andy Rubin at Intel’s Developer Forum. Though Android have been running only on ARM based processors, who have their own advantages over Intel, but with Intel panning to change things and develop low power Atom chips, Android might be the OS used in these new chips. This collaboration can very well result in Android making Intel optimized tablets and smartphones as well.

With this, Microsoft has also announced a new OS running on ARM processors. With this, it would be interesting to see what comes out as the new age processor for mobile phones.
