Hello there everyone, today we're going to learn how to change your operator logo on your S60v3. There was another tutorial by NightShift79, but it was using another method. I just thought I would add my version of how to accomplish the task.

First of all, what you need:
1) A hacked S60v3 mobile phone
2) A working SIM card as this doesn't work in Offline mode. (Not 100% tested)
3) Operator Logo Changer 1.20a (Attached)


Okay, so here we go:


1) Change your phone's date to 5/03/2008.

2) Install Operator Logo Changer 1.20a

3) Create a .bmp file. This will be your operator logo. Its resolution depends on your screen size. Here is a list to help you:

For 240*320, the image will be 134*35 .
For 176*208, the image will be 97*25 .
For 352*416, the image will be 194*50 .

I have tested this with a BMP file of 24-bit depth. Transparency is currently not
supported, but there are ways around it.

I have seen a problem with "stuck” installer files in S60 3rd Edition phones for a couple of times. The information from Application Manager shows that the applications are not installed. However, they cannot be deleted because there is no Delete menu (see screenshot below). They cannot be re-installed either because it always fails with "Unable to install” message. Those files are basically just stuck there.

From my opinion, it looks like a bug in S60 3rd Edition (not sure if this has been fixed in S60 3rd FP1). I don’t really know how to reproduce this problem, but it has happened to my phones several times. Once, I saw this problem after one application failed to install. In other occasions, I saw this problem after resetting my phone to the default factory settings.

There are some useful secret codes for Nokia S60’s phones to get system information, such as IMEI and software version. To enter theses codes, the phone must be in the idle screen (not in the menu screen). What is idle screen? This is the screen where you see the operator name, date, time, battery level, signal strength and some other stuff. You can switch between idle screen and menu screen using Menu key ().

Just follow the instructions mentioned below.

Ok. First you find whichever .ttf font that you want to use. In my case I just went to the font folder on c:/windows/font on my desktop. Pay close attention... what you NEED to do is create a folder on your desktop. Name that folder Fonts. Since you cannot just copy and paste a font from that windows folder, its safer to have both the fonts folder from your windows drive open AND the fonts folder that you just created on your desktop (which should be empty at this point). With both windows side by side, select the font that you would like to use and MOVE it to the other font folder by holding down the control button and dragging and dropping to your new font folder.
