Photon C6-04 Changelog :

- Optimized the CPU related Settings even more to Create a Perfect Balance between Speed and Battery Life
- N8 Portrait Menu Layout by dan-av.
- Extended Menu, Shrinked the network and battery icons to the top on Menu.
- Keyboard will now rotate according to the phone orientation. If you hold the phone in Landscape then the keyboard will be changed to Full QWERTY automatically.
- "Camera Already in Use" error fixed. However to fix this I had to disable the use of the touch screen "capture button". You can use the hardware key to take snaps. Wink
- Now Music Player will not return you to Menu after exiting it.
- Now PC/OVI Suite (and even your PC) will detect the phone as "Nokia Photon" and display the picture of a Nokia C6-00. You may need to reinstall PC/OVI Suite.
- Now you can set AutoKeyguard Lock time. But, value 1 minute has some bugs, so better not use it. Smiley
- Photos and Videos & TV twin icons removed.
- Default theme : NuBlack Default Icons - IND190
- N8 (Symbian^3) fonts are used.
- Gallery will not show images from E:\Photon\
- Changed the default widgets layout. Nokia Notifications widget comes preinstalled.
- "ShareOnline" button replaced with "Delete" in Photo Gallery, A mod by dan-av
- Rotation and Homescreen Swipe effects are taken from Nokia N8. Other effects are not added as they make the phone laggy.

At the outset let me tell you all that this is my first creation for the ever popular Nokia 5800XM. I do not own the phone myself, but after request from varios people & friends to create the C^6 MONOLOGUE based on the X^6 MONOLOGUE, I have tried to create something for the C6. I do not own the phone so I cannot test whether my TRY is successful or not..

WARNING!! hard reset is very much needed

also never restore your backup just setting backup..don't restore setting...

format MMC is recommended

Now as far as flashing this CFW is concerned its just the same as flashing any C6 port available. U need basically only 6 files like the ROFS2(Already provided here), CORE, UDA & the Signature, VPL & DCP files which you can replace according to your own variant versions (remember you would need to rename the ROFS2 file accordingly as per your variant version)

I have only provided the ROFS2 edited file as CFW which is based on the file by Binh24.

REMEMBER ROFS3 file is to BE REMOVED. Its not required.

A handy tutorial on flashing via JAF is available on the forum.

So, now you are ready to flash after having all the six files as per your variants.

Remember to delete everything from the mass memory after a hard reset before flashing this CFW. Once flashed, a hard reset would do no harm as well, it might just prove useful.

Also just leave aside the phone for 2 minutes after flash & hard reset for the optimizations to take place. Enjoy the transformed 5800XM.

Good luck all & sorry for any lack of mod or customization as I am a novice in CFW creation. Please bear with me. I have tried to incorporate as many mods & enhancements possible for stability & usability. Please report back your observations & whether this CFW has been in any way according to your expectations. Horizon Black Default Icons set to default theme.

Default widgets on homescreen: shortcuts 1/2, music player, contacts 1 and e-mail.

Zip and Dictionary now have Touch style icons also.

General Profile default tones changed to Tinker.aac and Message 8.aac.

Symbian Anna N8 RM-596 Firmware 22.014 Hacked, Cleaned and F

Hi everybody,

I want to share my firmware based on Chinese leaked version and especially the great ivo777's release (19.07).
This firmware only contains English and French.

The biggest job was done with the deletion of Chinese softwares (MdReader, Weibo, QQ01) and the addition of FULL French support.
When the UDA file was clean, I work into ROFS2 file containing language files.
Each r01 (EN) should have its r02 (FR) matching. 17 files were missing, X7 firmware was not complete for N8.
I added missing files from N8 PR1.2 and other translated myself.

Then all languages except EN and FR were deleted into ROFS2 & UDA.
Obviously for English people this version works fine, as Ovistore and Nokia Maps.

The gain on the drive is about 30MB.
After the first boot C : drive shows 177MB free .

Content of Ivo777 release :

here is the hot update from DR-NET and credits also to Mohammed79, for the arabic,frensh and english FW of Symbian ANNA

Many bugs were fixed, new fonts added. the three languages are for writing and reading!!

if you have already the symbian anna of ivo777 on your mobile so do not refurbish ,just restore product code.

i'm using it actually and it's very good ,

PS: if you use the general profile on your mobile, be sure that in his settings that you allow to show the name of caller.

Symbian ANNA Rofs2 of Ivo777 with arabic, frensh and english

This the file of Ivo777 edited by Dr-NET , he added the arabic and frensh languages!!

Important only the arabic keyboard was added to the english wish existed before. the frensh language is for the menus and not for writing!!

this Rofs2 is without any mods !!

How to install:

1)download the 8 files of symbian Anna of Ivo777 "search for the thread"

2) download the new rofs2 from here http://www.mediafire.com/?0rbci6hhnppd0dt

3) put the new rofs2 instead of the oldest one .

4) use phoenix : if you have already the symbian anna of ivo777 you can do firmware update/restore user product inspite of refurbish.

i tried it and it working very good!!

I have cooked a rofs2 rom which fully supports Greek (language + keyboard), but also supports the following writing languages:

a) Deutsch

b) Slovencina

c) Hrvatski

d) Srpski

e) and ofcourse English

Once again, I wish to thank ivo777 and shouk_1987 for their great work.

I have been using this rofs2 rom for about one day, without noticing any "missing" spots.

Use this ROFS2 together with the firmware located here.

Get the cooked ROFS2 here.

Use Phoenix (I used 2010) for flashing. And remember, you do it taking your own risk!

-If you wish to make your own attempts in cooking a specific language Rom yourselves, simply download via Navifirm+ the ROFS2 Rom file from your region's X7 firmware, and cook in accordance with the instructions from shouk_1987 using this ROFS2 instead of the PR1.1 N8 one...

-Thanx to triXeo for pointing out some menu glitches (no native language translations). Some of the menu's are not displayed in your native language because X7 does not support these functions, and thus corresponding menu words are not translated.

-It is highly recommended to read through ivo777 thread for known bugs before attempting to flash this rom.

-After triXeo suggestion, I deleted the Chinese language and set Greek as default phone language. Thanx triXeo

-After flashing, go to Ovi Suite and check for updates (2 available)

-Fixed English phone language. Phone languages+keyboards+xT9: English, Greek
